Napoleon’s Waterloo
When we hear someone say that something is a Waterloo, it surely means weakness. The idea all came about after the last defeat of the great Napoleon Bonaparte at Waterloo, Belgium. Today, Belgium regards Waterloo with high respect as this returns great fortune to the country in its tourism value. Many visit this place every year, numbering to the hundreds of thousands.
* The Battle Collection

At around June 15 every year, the battle is being reenacted. The sights spread for several kilometers. To start with, visit the Musee Wellington. This is the inn where Wellington spent the night before the battle. Battle plans, exhibits, documents and weapons of the battle are preserved in this place.
* The Lion Hill
The Waterloo Battlefield looks more like a pasture than a war-torn field. Time did heal old wounds. The fields are now used for growing cereals. The Lion Hill is also good to check out. It is a monumental salute to the 300,000 who faced each other in fierce battle.
The giant bronze lion stands with a paw on the globe and facing the direction where the French came. A platform is made below it for visitors to see the preserved battlefield.
A panoramic view of the epic battle can be found in a circular building near the visitor’s center. The 12 m high and 110 m long fresco will take you to the time of the great Waterloo battle.
